Hi, I’m Kimi, a portrait photographer based in Portland, Oregon, and the heart behind Kimi Photography. Originally from Japan, I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, and photography became my way of capturing the quiet, beautiful moments that often go unnoticed.
My journey into newborn and family photography was shaped by personal experiences, both joyful and difficult, that deepened my empathy and fueled my passion to help others preserve their own milestones. We found Kimi Photography through their website and signed up for the milestone package. From the very first consultation, Kimi and Mike showed incredible passion for understanding our preferences—whether it was theme, colors, or clothing.
On the photoshoot days, they went above and beyond, bringing creative ideas and unique setups that made the sessions both fun and memorable. We were especially amazed by our baby’s newborn photos. Kimi and Mike did an amazing job keeping our little one calm and comfortable, which allowed us to fully enjoy the experience without stress.
The photo review sessions were such a joy—we couldn’t stop smiling at the results. Every theme was thoughtful, creative, and beautifully executed. Working with Kimi and Mike was a dream. They are so kind and gentle, they care about your vision and put in all the extra work to make your family photo dreams come true! Something else I loved is the large amounts of “props” they had available to you. From baby swaddles and headbands, to dresses for the mom, they’ve thought of everything.
