Portland Newborn Session with this Baby Boy
Newborn sessions are something special
To me, a newborn session is something different than other sessions. Some people says they don’t understand why I keep photography newborns; They don’t pose well by themselves and make mess sometimes, and I can photograph other subjects also. Well, I get to hold the little creation who does not even know there are impurities in this world, and that is amazing. Also, I am always getting the feeling of being refreshed and cleansing my heart by those little humans. They are little, but they are probably way more power on some points than big humans I believe. I recently had a wonderful time during a Portland Newborn Session with this baby boy as well.
What can you get and feel from your newborn pictures
The time we photograph newborn is about when they are 5-14 days old. They literally only focus on breathing, eating and defecating and whatever the things that human has to do to live. All babies have their name and parents, but nothing else. They are just like a white clean big canvas that your family is gifted, right? We have been photographing over 400 babies for the last 9 years (in 2023) and what we have been capturing is the very beginning of these love stories. Some parents come to us to just capture just as their memory, but I believe that you can get more than that from having your newborn session.
Photographs will have more value and meaning after time passes. Not many parents think about when their little one becomes a grandparent in the future, but when that future comes, isn’t that kind of amazing for them to have seen your little one’s newborn pictures with your very first family portrait by your future family? The love you are experiencing now will be passed on to your family in the future. At least, that is what I think while I photograph newborn sessions and what I try to capture.
What to expect from the beginning of the love story
Not only do we photograph newborn portraits on our bean bag and with some sets with props, we photograph family pictures and pictures with parents. Also I think the detail shots of the baby’s would add more emotions, so we try to cover them as well. Every baby has a preference on their preferred poses (I can tell once I hold the baby), so we do not guarantee which poses we cover, but of course we would like to hear what parents want us capture and try if the baby allows us 🙂
