Kimi Photography is a Portland Newborn Photographer; we aspire to be the photographer to capture your special moments, in your purest and most beautiful form. Please let us tell you a little about who we are.
Kimi Photography is also a Portland family & newborn photographers. We are specialized in newborn baby photography. We Portland Newborn Photography also love capturing maternity, 1st birthday picture, smash cake sessions and family portraits.
Every photo session with Kimi Photography is unique. When we are not in a session, we spend our days finding beautiful places in Portland, Oregon. We also imagine fun scenarios to put a person at ease so we can photograph a person’s true essence and spirit. We are highly involved in the planning and preparation of each photo shoot, allowing us to capture your real magic and individuality of you.
THE TEAM
The Kimi Photography team is composed of Kimi and Mike, a vibrant husband and wife duo. Before they met, both had a passion for photography. Founded on their love for Jesus Christ, they have been married for over 10 years! Yay! They also love reading, playing tennis (although very terribly but they make it fun) and board games, cooking, and of course eating! Their family includes two kitties.

About Kimi…I guess without telling where I am from, it is hard to describe myself…
I am from Osaka Japan, which is famous for being the holy grail of Japanese comedy. I am not sure it is related to where I grow up, but I sometimes or most of the time don’t get my husband jokes at all…Sometimes I do get it, but I try not to laugh so much so I won’t encourage him.(He thinks I am not understanding the humour)
Anyway, I am having my wonderful husband and We are so happy to be together. However, our marriage life was not easy as you might think. I don’t know about other peoples marriage, but our first year had a lot of challenges. Yeah, I have seen the sign “Happily ever after!” As I experienced our first year, I learned that it is harder than what it is written.
Especially, when I was 23, I had a hard time having my own kids. It made me want to capture the beauty of the family and the purity of life, so I even appreciate going through the tough time, but it was hard for me in my 20’s.
Through out our marriage, my husband really support me and encourage me. Yeah, I think being married is awesome! Also, celebrating the growing up families of my clients and friends are so encouraging us! As every year we are growing as a couple, my aspiration of photography is to capture this joy and love in photos for you, friends and family to enjoy and remember.
MIKE: Technical Director
Primarily the support and encouragement system, I work the administrative, organization, and print portion of Kimi Photography. I’ve got the entrepreneurial spirit and love talking business, always with an easy going style and a smile of course.

I also love handcrafting albums and print media. It’s so wonderful seeing our client’s photographs come to life when making prints. There is just so much magic and emotion captured within each photograph that your photos will certainly be a treasured memory forever.
